Homebase.

This week we went to Homebase looking specifically at the garden centre and builders merchants.
When we got back to school we made a list of all the things we had seen. We worked as a team to make our own builders merchants outside.
Next week we will be setting up a garden centre. We will be developing our maths skills by buying seeds, bulbs and plants.

A big thank you to the manager of Homebase who gave us lots of bulbs, some sand and a bucket!

This week we have been investigating ice blocks of different shapes and sizes. We explored the ice as it melted ,discovering that it melts quicker if you put warm water on it. We found out that it melts very quickly if you put it in the microwave.

Visit from an Arctic explorer.

This week, Alan came to visit and told us all about his journey to the Arctic. We really enjoyed his talk and followed it up by writing a polar bear information book, making an ice cave and going on an imaginary journey to the Arctic.

Stickman

We have been very busy writing our own version of the story of Stickman to give to Mr Kennedy. We hope he likes it.

This week some of us made our own Stickman puppets.

Happy New Year!

Welcome back. I hope you have all enjoyed a peaceful Christmas and New Year.
In class this week we read and watched the story of Stickman. On Thursday we held a stick race and investigated objects to find out if they would float or sink.
