Our writers of the week!

Last week we had a visit from Alan Bennett. He showed a range of pond life including toads, frogs, tadpoles and frogspawn.

On the Gruffalo trail

Outdoor learning.

This week we have been planting bulbs and flowers outdoors.

We have also been making quad bikes and bat mobiles.

Homebase.

This week we went to Homebase looking specifically at the garden centre and builders merchants.

When we got back to school we made a list of all the things we had seen. We worked as a team to make our own builders merchants outside.

Next week we will be setting up a garden centre. We will be developing our maths skills by buying seeds, bulbs and plants.

A big thank you to the manager of Homebase who gave us lots of bulbs, some sand and a bucket!

This week we have been investigating ice blocks of different shapes and sizes. We explored the ice as it melted ,discovering that it melts quicker if you put warm water on it. We found out that it melts very quickly if you put it in the microwave.
